OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard. On February 24, 2015, an employee conducting hot-work/welding was exposed to a fall hazard greater than 10 feet while welding on the outer steel columns located on the 6th floor of the hospital construction site. The fall protection equipment selected by the employer was not suitable for the workplace conditions.
