OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employement and a place of employement which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to explosion hazards and sharp particles flying in the air: On or about 3/02/15 at 4179 Hwy 278, Covington, GA: Employees was exposed to a struck-by-hazard from flying shrapnel particles from the PVC air lines used to supply air to various tools the employees operate daily. Reference: Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI). PPI warned consumers and employers that plastic- polyvinyl- chloride (PVC) pipe cannot be used in compressed air piping systems without risk of explosion.
