29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 paragraph (b) or (c) of this section.   a) Near 2841 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan AL; On or about March 3, 2015 the employer exposed employees to cave-in hazards in that employees were allowed to work inside of a trench measuring 7.7 feet deep, 8 feet wide, and 38 feet in length that was dug in class "c" soil. The employer had not complied with the standard in that employees were not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system and the excavation was sloped at an angle steeper than one and one-half horizontal to one vertical (thirty-four degrees measured to the horizontal).
