OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation hazards. a) For employees working at 2050 51st Street in Sarasota, as observed on or about March 5, 2015. Employees were operating a metal alligator type shear to cut copper pipe. The employees were not trained in the safe work practices and recognition of the hazards of operating the machine without the guard.

Employees were operating a metal alligator type shear to cut copper pipe that did not have a point of operation guard installed on the machine. Employees were exposed to amputation hazards.
