Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of a Class IV Carbon Dioxide laser (far-infrared ray with 10.6 micrometer wavelength) which can cause severe burns to the eyes and skin.     a)  Fabrication Area - On or prior to March 12, 2015 , the Amada LC-2415AII laser cutter was not operated and maintained to protect employees from exposure to Class IV laser hazards.
