29 CFR 1910.212(b): Machines designed for fixed locations were not securely anchored to prevent walking or moving. a) Manual Shop, 725 State Road, Lehighton, PA - Employees deburred metal parts daily with drill presses, such as but not limited to a Grizzly Drill Press Model G7944, which were not securely anchored to the shop floor. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards as observed, on or about March 18, 2015. b) Turning Center, 725 State Road, Lehighton, PA - Employees deburred metal parts daily with drill presses and abrasive wheel grinders, such as but not limited to a Grizzly Drill Press Model G7944 and a Dayton Grinder Model 4T199B, which were not securely anchored to the shop floor. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards as observed, on or about March 18, 2015. c) Milling Shop, 725 State Road, Lehighton, PA - Employees deburred metal parts daily with drill presses, such as but not limited to a Delta Drill Press Model 17-950L, which were not securely anchored to the shop floor. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards as observed, on or about March 18, 2015. d) Welding Shop, 725 State Road, Lehighton, PA - Employees sharpened tungsten welding rods with a Baldor Abrasive Wheel Pedestal Grinder Model 7307 which was not securely anchored to the shop floor. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards as observed, on or about March 18, 2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. a) Turning Center, 725 State Road, Lehighton, PA - A four-foot by ten-foot (4'x10') sheet of wood, a 55-gallon drum, two (2) pallets of sheet metal, and an electric pallet jack were stored in front of electrical equipment (240V and 480V electrical panels) in the Turning Center, impeding the ready and safe operation and maintenance of the equipment by employees, as observed on or about March 18, 2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is not required for the violation. The hazardous condition was corrected during the inspection.

Employees who choose to attempt to extinguish a fire with the portable fire extinguisher were exposed to fire hazards, on or about March 18, 2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is not required for this violation. The hazardous condition was corrected during the inspection.

Employees had not been provided annual training on the general principles of fire extinguisher selection/use and the hazards involved with fighting incipient stage fires. Employees were exposed to the hazards associated with fires and explosions, on or about March 18, 2015. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation.
