29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(v): The safety monitor had other responsibilities which could take the monitor's attention from the monitoring function: At a jobsite in Rockford, Illinois the safety monitor being used as a method of fall protection for employees working on a low slope commercial roof approximately 18 feet above grade had other duties that distracted his attention from performing monitoring duties. Employees were exposed to fall hazards while working without the benefit of a safety monitor. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the certification of corrective action worksheet).
