29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about March 19, 2015 - at a jobsite located at 407 S. Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL. - employees performing masonry activities on a flat roof were exposed to fall hazards of approximately one hundred and eighty (180) feet to the ground level below due to the presence of unprotected sides and edges. a) The MBB Enterprises of Chicago, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 111378 citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 9th, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 1519 W. Warren Avenue, Chicago, IL. b) The MBB Enterprises of Chicago, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 404502 citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 15th, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 6209 S. Ingleside Avenue, Chicago, IL.
