29 CFR 1926.200(g)(2): 29 CFR 1926.200(g)(2): All traffic control signs and devices used for protection of the workers did not conform to Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) 1988 Edition, Revision 3 Section 6H-2e (Lane Closings on Multi-Lane Roads): a) On or about March 17, 2015, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards associated with moving traffic in that an effective traffic control zone had not been correctly set-up around the work area to protect worker due to the following: 1) The merger taper were not set-up to direct vehicular traffic into either the right-hand or the left hand lane. The merger taper were set-up to direct vehicular traffic to both the right-hand and left hand lane. 2) Traffic control devices that were placed at the intersection of Main St. and Parker Rd eastbound was set-up without a traffic control plan. 3) Pedestrian traffic control devices were not set up while employees conducted work which extended across a crosswalk. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
