29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee was exposed to respirable dust containing 9.47% crystalline quartz in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits of 0.8718 milligrams per cubic meter:  a) At the facility, where an employee performing abrasive blasting activities with Sand Express Blast Sand and spray painting activities with Carboline paint was exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average of 2.65 milligrams per cubic meter of respirable dust containing 9.47% crystalline quartz.  The permissible exposure limit (PEL) for dust containing 9.47% crystalline quartz is 0.8718 milligrams per cubic meter.  The employee's exposure was approximately 3 times the PEL.  Sampling was conducted for 355 minutes during one shift on November 7, 2014.  Zero exposure was assumed for the remaining 125 minutes.
