29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Projecting shaft ends that did not present a smooth edge and end and projected more than one-half the diameter of the shaft were not guarded by nonrotating caps or safety sleeves: a) Planer Area: An unguarded rotating shaft end on the out feed conveyor immediately adjacent to the drive motor side of the Newman Whitney planer that projected more than one-half the shaft diameter (1 1/4" x 1 1/2") exposed the operator and others to an entanglement hazard, on or about April 2, 2015. b) Planer Area: An unguarded rotating shaft end on the end of the out feed conveyor on the drive motor side of the Newman Whitney planer that did not present a smooth edge and end, and projected more than one-half the shaft diameter (1 3/8" x 2") exposed the operator and others to an entanglement hazard, on or about April 2, 2015. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
