OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):     Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee(s) in that employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of being caught-in:    Inside of the BMC Quality Testing Area, the palm buttons belonging to the following machines were not protected against unintended actuation and arranged by design, construction, or separation so that the concurrent use of both hands was required to initiate the press stroke:    a/  Stokes Spiral Hydraulic Press, m/n 7270, s/n M50954.    b/  DEA Hydraulic Press, unknown m/n or s/n.      One method of abatement to correct this apparent hazard is to arrange each hand control so that protection against unintended actuation and the concurrent use of both hands are afforded as required by ANSI B11.2-1995, paragraph 6.3.9.(2).    DISCLAIMER:    a/  The employer is not limited to the abatement method(s) suggested by OSHA.  b/  The employer is responsible for selecting and implementing an affective abatement method.
