29 CFR 1926.652(c): 29 CFR 1926.652(c): Support systems, shield systems, and other protective systems were not designed and constructed in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs (c)(1-4); as applicable: (a) Plot 211+00 Northbound SR115 - Employees were installing a storm water box in a partially back filled hole that was 6 1/2 feet deep on three sides and a 9 foot high fractured stone wall at the rear of the excavation. The employees were using a piece of 3/4 inch plywood road sign, the cap for the storm water box, and the bucket of the excavator as a protective system, thereby exposing the employee to a serious hazard, observed on or about 4-6-15. Abatement Certification Required.
