29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets: a) Behind the Newport Township Municipal Building (Wanamie Hose Co. #2): An employee was working on the ground at a residential roofing jobsite without head protection. The employee was exposed to head injuries from falling objects on or about April 2, 2015. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) At the jobsite: Employees were performing residential roofing activities at least 25 feet above ground level on an estimated 6 in 12 pitch roof without the use of a fall protection system. Employees were exposed to fall hazards on or about April 2, 2015. CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED. Jeff Ashton dba J&F Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 998797, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 5,2015, with respect to a workplace located at 355 Church Road, Mountain Top, PA 18707.
