29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a- Gables Shopping Center, 2040 Route 33 East, Neptune City NJ: Employees, not supplied with fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards of up to and in excess of 11 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof sheathing installation and other related activities from a commercial building's pitched roof. Condition observed on or about 04/15/15. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENLATY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a- Gables Shopping Center, 2040 Route 33 East, Neptune City NJ: Employees, not supplied with fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards of up to and in excess of 11 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof sheathing installation and other related activities from a commercial building's pitched roof. The company employees had not been trained to recognize and address the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.
