29 CFR 1926.752(b): The steel erection contractor commenced steel erection without receiving written notification that the concrete in the footings, piers and walls or the mortar in the masonry piers and walls had attained, on the basis of an appropriate ASTM standard test method of field-cured samples, either 75 percent of the intended minimum compressive design strength or sufficient strength to support the loads imposed during steel erection.    (a) 260 Ocean Road, Bridgehampton, NY (Worksite)  The employer commenced steel erection activities, in that it installed structural steel posts, ranging in sizes of 5" x 5" x 10'-2" L and 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 10'-2" L, and W12 x 96 structural steel beams, approximately 20' L; without receiving written notification that the concrete foundation had attained, either 75 percent of the intended minimum compressive design strength or sufficient strength to support the loads imposed during steel erection on, or about April 15, 2015.          Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this violation, in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

(a) Worksite - A signal person was not provided when the National Crane, Model # 900A / Serial # 290557, was used to lay out structural steel beams and the area where they were being laid out was not in full view of the crane operator. The area where the structural steel beams were being laid out was located to the crane operator's back and he did not have full view of the area on, or about April 15, 2015.      Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this violation, in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
