OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation hazards.     (a)The Kitchen Cafe, LLC at 100 N. College Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80524:  On April 16th, 2015, the employer did not ensure the point of operation was properly guarded to prevent employees from having any part of their body in the danger zone during operation. On April 16th, 2015, an employees finger(s) were partially amputated as a result of contacting the auger while pushing meat down the throat of the feed pan by hand only. This condition exposed the employee to amputation hazard associated with a Weston Electric Meat Grinder #22, Model 08-2201-W, serial # W2212133370.    Abatement Note:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct the hazard is to provide adequate training to affected employees on the proper use of the safety guard and the manufacturers operators manual and warnings for the Weston Electric Meat Grinder #22, Model 08-2201-W, serial # W2212133370.
