OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries while operating manual and pneumatic dock-leveling devices onto trucks and tractor trailers.    (a) 288 Grumman Road West, Bethpage, NY (Worksite), Docks - The employer did not ensure through instruction and training that the employees required to operate dock-leveling devices were performing the task safely at all times on, or about March 11, 2015.      Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this violation, in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. Failure to comply may result in an additional penalty of $1,000.
