29 CFR 1926.51(f)(1): The employer did not provide adequate washing facilities for employees engaged in the application of paints, coatings, herbicides, or insecticides, or in other operations where contaminants may be harmful to the employees. Such facilities were not in near proximity to the worksite and was not equipped as to enable employees to remove such substances: (a) Employees whose skin surfaces were exposed to wet concrete containing Portland cement while assisting in pouring, vibrating, and finishing of the material during the construction of a footer, were not provided with soap and towels to aid in the washing of the material from the body. A source of water was available at the site. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.95(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided: (a) An employee was not provided with protective gloves while operating a concrete vibrator during the pouring of a footer. Lack of gloves resulted in the contamination of the employees hands with wet concrete. (b) Employees who were using trowels to finish freshly poured concrete during the construction of a footer were provided with inappropriate cloth gloves. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2) and (h)(3) on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) An employee who was exposed to concrete containing Portland cement not been provided information and training concerning the following: * Information regarding the location and availability of the employer's written hazard communication program * Information regarding the location and availability of material safety data sheets/safety data sheets * Training on appropriate measures to take to protect against exposure to this hazardous chemical, including appropriate work practices and personal protective equipment * Training on the details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer and how to get a copy of it * Training on the new container label elements and the new format and types of information on each section of safety data sheets (SDSs). ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
