29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(viii): An aerial lift truck was moved when the boom was elevated in a working position with men in the basket and was not specifically designed for this type of operation in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs (a)(1) and (2) of this section. At the intersection of S. Mary St. and Highway 377 in Comanche, Texas, an employee installing telecommunications lines rode in an elevated aerial lift bucket while the vehicle was traveling. The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet.
