29 CFR 1926.25(a): During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, form and scrap lumber with protruding nails, and all other debris, shall be kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures. a) 780 Old New Brunswick Rd., Somerset, NJ 08873: Employees performing a tool and part retrieval and exchange operation using the stairs to enter and exit the trailer were exposed to trip and fall hazards because boxes of parts, material and debris had been left on the stairs. Conditions were observed on or about 4/28/2015.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(4): Midrails, screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, or equivalent intermediate structural members, shall be provided between the top rail of the stairrail system and the stairway steps. a) 780 Old New Brunswick Rd., Somerset, NJ 08873: Employees performing a tool and part retrieval and exchange operation using the stairs to enter and exit the trailer were not protected from fall hazards because the stair rail did not have a mid rail. Condition observed on or about 4/28/2015.
