29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about May 7, 2015 - at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing roofing operations on a roof, approximately seventeen (17) feet above the ground, were not adequately protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. The Billings Roofing & Exterior Home Remodeling was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 985215, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 6, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 15641 Woodlawn Ave., South Holland, IL 60473. The Billings Roofing & Exterior Home Remodeling was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 911507, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 6, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 1036 East 170th Street, South Holland, IL 60473.
