OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a)3701 Tonnelle Ave., North Bergen, NJ:Employee climbing storage racks and standing on the third tier approximately 10 feet from the ground below before falling to the ground. Violation occurred on or about 4/17/15. ABATEMENT NOTES:AMONG OTHERS METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT HAZARD IS TO:Instruct employees to never climb the racking system. b.) 3701 Tonnelle Ave, North Bergen, NJ: Employee standing on a pallet being lifted approximately 12 feet from the ground below, exposing the employee to fall hazards. Violation occurred on or about 5/12/15. ABATEMENT NOTES:AMONG OTHERS METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO: INSTRUCT EMPLOYEES TO NEVER BE LIFTED ON A PALLET AND TO USE APPROVED PLATFORM SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE FORKS OF THE FORKLIFT. ENSURE THAT EMPLOYEES EXPOSED TO FALL HAZARDS ARE PROTECTED FROM FALLING BY USE OF GUARDRAIL SYSTEM OR FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM.
