Employee(s) who add liquid chemicals, including, but not limited to sulfuric acid, to tanks were not required to wear face shields or chemical splash goggles to protect the employee(s) from face and eye injuries. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) On or about May 15, 2015, Electronic Interconnect Corporation did not provide information and training to employees exposed to hazardous chemicals relating to copper plating of circuit boards. These chemicals include, but are not limited to: sulfuric acid. The training should cover topics including, but not limited to: the location and content of Material Safety Data Sheets for the chemicals in the work area and the workplace labeling system used by the employer (b) On or about May 15, 2015, Electronic Interconnect Corporation did not provide training to employees by December 1, 2013 on the revised Safety Data Sheet format and content, as well as the new labeling elements as required by the revised hazard communication standard 29 CFR 1910.1200. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
