29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a) Shop Area - On or about May 14, 2015, M & J Manufacturing Co., Inc. did not ensure compressed air used for cleaning purposes (cleaning machined parts) was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding at the ACRA ADT - 450 Drill and Tap Center. In accordance with 29CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
