Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed:        a)    On May 28, 2015, employee was exposed to injuries while operating an Ingersoll-Rand, DD-24 Self Propelled articulating compactor adjacent to a steep, 42 degree, 16 feet deep ravine, without a rollover protection structure (ROPS) and seat belts.        Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard; on projects with slopes or embankments only use equipment with ROPS and seatbelts.
