29 CFR 1926.152(d)(2): A portable fire extinguisher having a rating of not less than 20-B units was not located between 25 feet and 75 feet from flammable liquid storage area(s) located outside: a) Harper Mechanical Contractors, LLC, Basic School Student Quarters, Quantico Marine Base: On or about 05/28/2015, a fire extinguisher was not provided between 25 feet and 75 feet from the 500-gallon tank of #2 diesel fuel stored outside, thus exposing employee to possible burns. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) Harper Mechanical Contractors, LLC, Quantico Marine Base, Basic School Student Quarters Building P-567: On or about 05/27/2015, two red/black extension cords used to supply power to a pedestal fan and charger lacked strain relief on the female plug end, thus exposing employees to a possible electrical shock. No abatement certification or documentation required.
