29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: In the hose shop the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from contacting the T08-183 Crimp Machine while performing crimping operations. Employee/s were exposed to a caught between hazard.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment was not used when compressed air was used for cleaning purposes: In the hose shop at the Graymills parts cleaning tub and the Aeroquip Hose Line Assembly Machine compressed air was being used at a pressure of 80 psi to periodically remove oil and/or water from hoses. Employees were exposed to the hazard of injecting air into their body.
