Located in Groveport OH near Medeira Dr and East Ridge Dr, the employer allowed employees to lift a reel of wire weighing approximately 1000 pounds with a wire rope sling attached to the tine of a Cat 950K wheel loader without prior approval from the material handler manufacturer. The use of a wire rope sling with a load below the tines can change the capacity and safe operation of the material handler.
