29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards: a) George Winston Company / 1202 State St, Erie, PA: On or about June 10, 2015 employees were replacing an air conditioning unit and were working on a roof approximately 12-feet from ground level. The roof did not have standard railings. In The Alternative: 29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered. a) George Winston Company / 1202 State St, Erie, PA: On or about June 10, 2015 employees were replacing an air conditioning unit and were working on a roof approximately 12-feet from ground level. The employees were not using a personal fall arrest system or other protective means to keep the employees from falling.
