The walls were near vertical and previously disturbed soil.

D which was not secured from lateral movement. A 6 ft. L x 3 ft. W x 8 ft. H trench shield was installed in an approximately 9 ft. L x 7 ft. W x 10 ft. D trench with a gap of approximately 3 ft. between the shield and the southern wall.
