29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, moving parts, and reciprocating motion: a) Pressing Area, 4702 Route 982, Latrobe, PA 15650: Observed on or about June 9, 2015, a Laeis 800 ton hydraulic press and shaker assembly was not adequately guarded. The front, right side, and back areas (shaker area) of the press were not adequately guarded. Press operators and maintenance personnel were exposed to caught-by and crushed-by hazards while operating and trouble shooting the press and the shaker assembly.
