OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and/or crushed-by machinery and/or equipment which was causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) In the south end warehouse/assembly area, employees were exposed to struck-by and/or crushed-by hazards while operating overhead cranes. The safety latches at the throat of hooks were broken. This violation was observed on or about June 23, 2015.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Flexible cords were not used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap: a) In the hull building area, employees are exposed to electrical hazards when a damaged flexible cord, that was powering equipment, was laying on the floor where employees walk, was spliced. Cord not repaired so that the splice retained the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced. This violation was observed on or about June 23, 2015.
