A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees.     (a)  Highway 49 South - On or about June 11, 2014 two employees were working inside a 5.1 feet deep trench. The trench was 70 feet 4 inches long with no means of egress. A ladder was outside the excavation.            CORNERSTONE UNDERGROUND & EXCAVATION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.651(C)(2) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 955834 CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 4, ISSUED ON MARCH 26, 2014 WITH A FINAL ORDER DATE OF APRIL 4, 2014, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED 1029 HWY 471 NORTH, BRANDON, MS 39042.
