29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside is permitted on exit discharge doors. (a) West wall, North corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times because they had slide bars installed on them thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (b) West wall, South corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times because they had slide bars installed on them thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (c) South wall, West corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times because they had slide bars installed on them thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (a) West wall, North corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to recognize this as an emergency exit because it neither clearly visible nor marked Exit ; thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (b) West wall, South corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to recognize this as an emergency exit because it neither clearly visible nor marked Exit ; thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (c) South wall, West corner emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to recognize this as an emergency exit because it neither clearly visible nor marked Exit ; thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. (d) South wall, center emergency exit door in back warehouse: The employer did not ensure that employees would be able to recognize this as an emergency exit because it neither clearly visible nor marked Exit ; thereby exposing those employees to fire hazards. 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level. (a) In the center warehouse; the West wall, South corner emergency exit door was blocked by materials extending passed shelving and stored in aisle ways exposing employees to fire hazards. (b) The West wall, North corner emergency exit door in the back warehouse had material stored in aisle ways and extending off of pallets making it nearly impossible to get to and exposing employees to fire hazards. (c) The West wall, South corner emergency exit door in the back warehouse was so blocked that the CSHO couldnt even get a good picture of it; exposing employees to fire hazards. (d) The South wall, West corner emergency door in the back warehouse had materials stored in front of it, completely blocking it exposing employees to fire hazards. (e) The South wall, center emergency door in the back warehouse had a work table and rolls of foam material stored in front of and blocking it exposing employees to fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings shall be effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. A breaker box located in the coating building; by the double doors leading to the break room, was missing a breaker and there was no blank installed in its place to prevent accidental contact with live parts (the buss bar inside) thereby exposing any of the twenty two (22) employees to electrocution hazards.

Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. Employees were exposed to tripping hazards when a small table and folding chair were left in front of a breaker panel which would need to be accessed in the event of an emergency. Note: these items were removed and this was corrected during the inspection.
