29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level.  WORKPLACE:  The following emergency exits were blocked:    1.     The exit door located in the southeast corner of the building, next to the bathroom was blocked by a rack of employee uniforms. 2.     The exit door to the storage room on the west side of the building was partially blocked by debris, storage and a metal shelving unit.

Pulleys, any parts of which are seven (7) feet or less from the floor or working platform, shall be guarded in accordance with the standards specified in paragraphs (m) and (o) of this section. Pulleys serving as balance wheels (e.g., punch presses) on which the point of contact between belt and pulley is more than six feet six inches (6 ft. 6 in.) from the floor or platform may be guarded with a disk covering the spokes.    WORKPLACE: The V-belt on the Liner Bros Inc., air compressor, located in Bay #6 and used to provide compressed air throughout the facility had its guard removed, exposing employees to the pulleys.

29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3): The employer shall assure that portable fire extinguishers are subjected to an annual maintenance check. Stored pressure extinguishers do not require an internal examination. The employer shall record the annual maintenance date and retain this record for one year after the last entry or the life of the shell, whichever is less. The record shall be available to the Assistant Secretary upon request.    WORKPLACE: 1910.157(e) (3): The employer did not ensure that portable fire extinguishers located throughout the facility were inspected on an annual basis to ensure the extinguishers were in proper working order.      Vicco Management Inc. dba Midas Auto Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard (29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3)), which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1074526, Citation Number 2, Item Number 1, affirmed as a final order on 8/28/2012, with respect to a workplace located at  910 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, CT .

Vicco Management Inc. dba Midas Auto Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard (29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1)), which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1074526, Citation Number 1, Item Number 7a, affirmed as a final order on 8/28/2012, with respect to a workplace located at  910 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, CT .
