29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) For employees working at 2121 North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, as observed on or about 30 June, 2015. Employees were installing wood framing on the roof of a commercial building. The eave to ground height measured approximately 9 feet 4 inches and the had no fall protection system in place.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: a) For employees working at 2121 North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, as observed on or about 30 June, 2015. Employees were using a step ladder for access to the roof of a commercial building. The top of the step ladder was approximately 4 inches above the upper landing surface.
