29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): Instance 1: An employee performing residential carpentry operations on the outside top plate, twenty-one (21) feet three (3) inches above the ground, was not protected from falling, thereby exposing the employee to fall hazards. Instance 2: An employee performing residential carpentry operations on a second floor window opening, eleven (11) feet eight (8) inches above the ground, was not protected from falling, thereby exposing the employee to fall hazards. Instance 3: An employee performing residential carpentry operations above the second floor ceiling joists was not protected from falling, thereby exposing the employee to fall hazards greater than six (6) feet. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
