29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems:   (a) On or about July 1st, 2015, at a construction site under the control and custody of 7B Building Development, LLC, and located at 9601 E. 63rd Street in Raytown, MO, a worker was observed standing on the top flange of a structural I-beam over 15 feet above the lower surface.  The worker was not wearing a body belt or body harness, and no other type of fall protection system was in place or in use at the time of the inspection.   Abatement certification is required for this Item.  Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.  NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
