29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets.   Employees performing residential siding operations were exposed to struck by hazards while employees handed siding materials to the second level from the first level.  The employer failed to mandate the use of hard hats.    No abatement certification is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers.  An employee performing residential siding operations from a pump jack scaffold was exposed to a 18.3 foot fall and the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.   Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
