29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.    WORKSHOP: The employer did not ensure through performing appropriate assessments and training that the employees using corrosive chemicals while performing cleaning tasks with chemicals were not only provided but also wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as (but not limited to) safety goggles/face shields to prevent from eye/face damage.

29 CFR 1910.132(a): Application. Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact.    WORKSHOP:  The employees, using the following food carts were exposed to the hazards of being cuts and other similar injuries from protruding and broken sharp metal parts, and the employees were neither provided nor wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect from the anticipated hazards:    1.  Larger food cart labeled First Floor Dining, right strip edging on the door was broken.     2.  #7 Small cart, unknown identification, right door did not close and strip on the lower back side was broken.    3.  #4 larger cart; edging was missing five screws on the right front door.      ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.
