29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail and one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge: The employer does not ensure stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were equipped with at least one handrail and one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge. This violation occurred on or about July 9, 2015, at the construction site where employees were exposed fall hazards while using a stairway without a handrail or stair rail. Pursuant to 29 C.F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, are equipped with at least one handrail and one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge.
