Employees engaged in roofing activities were exposed to a fall hazard in Peoria, Illinois while accessing the step ladder scaffold that was on the porch roof because they used they used the step ladders as access to the plank by stepping around the plank.

The step ladder did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface.             Dealer Installations Services, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 985677, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 4, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 6001 N. University Street, Peoria, IL 61614.
