29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(b) or29 CFR 1926.652(c). a) Site - On or about 07/22/15 and at times prior thereto employees were working in the installation of a retaining wall at the bottom of an excavation with nearly vertical walls, at an approximate depth of 25 ft. The employer did not design and implement a protective system to protect workers from cave-in hazards. No abatement required for this citation. Corrected during inspection.
