Repair Shop - On or about and times prior to July 21, 2015, the employer did not develop and implement a written hazard communication program for employees that used hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to lubricants, brake cleaners, motor oil, transmission fluid, and paint, thus exposing employees to chemical hazards.  Arabi Boat Works LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 998661, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on December 2, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 129 Reynolds Drive, Arabi, GA 31712.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area.  a). Repair Shop - On or about and times prior to July 21, 2015, the employer's hazard communication training was ineffective in that the training did not cover topics such as, but not limited to the hazards of the chemical products used, the location and information contained in safety data sheets, and the details of the written hazard communication program, thus exposing employees to chemical hazards.
