29 CFR 1910.266(f)(3)(vii): For machines manufactured after August 1, 1996, the upper portion of each cab was not fully enclosed with mesh material with openings no greater than 2 inches (5.08 cm) at its least dimension, or with other materials which the employer can demonstrate that provide equivalent protection and visibility. (a) Located on East Rim Road to the west of the Cleetwood boat ramp trail at Crater Lake National Park. On or about July 21, 2015 the inspection revealed that employees were potentially exposed to serious injury from the use of a Caterpillar Model 336 FL excavator with a grapple attachment while the excavator front cab door was left open.
