29 CFR 1910.178(g)(5): Reinstalled batteries shall be properly positioned and secured in the truck. WORKSHOP/JOB SITE: The employer had not ensured through establishing safe procedures and providing specific instructions and trainings that the employees, installing and/or re-positioning batteries on vehicles, trucks and/or powered industrial lift trucks at hosting companies were performing the tasks safely and appropriately at all times. On/or about July 24, 2015, an employee's left index finger was amputated due to the Deka battery, which was in the compartment of the Hyster #4 powered industrial forklift truck (PIT) and while being re-positioned, tilted and caught the employees left hand.
