29 CFR 1926.451(g)(4)(v): When screens and mesh are used, they shall extend from the top edge of the guardrail system to the scaffold platform, and along the entire opening between the supports. Worksite: Screens and tarps used on the scaffold as guardrails for protection were not fully attached to the bottom section of the scaffold.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Worksite: Fall protection was not used by an employee working from the roof and exposed to a fall greater than 6 feet.
