29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use [ANSIZ358.1-2004]:     a. On or about 07/23/15, at the warehouse area, at Central Discount Cash & Carry, St. Thomas, VI. An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Interstate batteries (sulfuric acid) when checking water levels during Yale manual pallet jack truck maintenance operations.     NOTE:   Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    On or about 07/23/15, at the warehouse area, at Central Discount Cash & Carry, St. Thomas, VI. The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program to ensure safety data sheets availability as follows:    a. Employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Interstate batteries (sulfuric acid) when checking water levels during Yale manual pallet jack truck maintenance operations.        b. Employees used and/or handled compressed gases such as propane (LPG) tanks when replacing empty tanks with new tanks during Kalmar AC forklift maintenance operations.     NOTE:   Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
