OSH Act of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer does not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards such as crushed-by hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: (a) Employees in the west building were exposed to crushed-by hazards when the safety latches were removed from the hooks on a 20 ton crane; (b) Employees in the west building were exposed to crushed-by hazards from a self-closing safe latch that was not functional on the hooks on a 5 ton crane.
